The National Teacher Policy (NTP) 2025, signed by the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) of Nigeria, establishes a comprehensive national framework for the management, development and professionalisation of teachers across all levels of education. To operationalise the policy and enable systematic tracking of its implementation, an NTP Implementation Monitoring Tool and User guide was developed.

The EISS project seeks to strengthen education systems to improve teacher preparation, recruitment, deployment, and professional resilience. A core focus of EISS is Outcome 3, which aims to establish Teacher Learning Teams (TLTs) within geographically defined school clusters. These clusters are intended to foster structured teacher collaboration, peer learning, continuous professional development, and stronger linkages between schools, students, and surrounding communities.

The NTP represents a bold step in advancing the Federal Government’s vision for a well-trained, motivated and empowered teaching workforce. It provides a unified framework that addresses every aspect of the teacher’s professional journey, from preparation and certification to Continuous Professional Development (CPD), welfare and career progression.
